Is the Hercules MP3 e2 the best entry-level DJ Mixer on the market? by Matt Hood
Out of all the DJ Mixers I have reviewed in the past, I have to say that this is one is incredible. The Hercules MP3 e2 is probably the best entry level MP3 controller. It is very easy to mix two tracks with simple controls and produce high quality music. This mixer comes with the software Virtual DJ 3 DJC Edition, which is a great way for beginners and occasional DJ’s to hone their skills.
There is NO need for a power cable or batteries for this controller as it is powered by USB, needing only to be plugged into your PC or laptop to work.
A great feature of the Hercules MP3 e2 is that it is relatively small and lightweight and includes a protective cover which makes it safe and easy to carry.
Here are some of the features of the MP3 controller:
- Ultra-mobile for easy transport
- It is powered via USB, allowing its use anywhere you want to have your laptop provided
- Crossfader and two separate bridges, each with a knob-style vinyl
- Cue points suggested by the analysis software DJ audio files can be entered manually or
- Synchronize two-tracks with the push of a button
- Auto-loop (Software Detects the rhythm and loops on 1 -, 2 – or 4 – count).
Overall, for the price they charge for the Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2, you will not find a better entry level MP3 controller. There are certainly more sophisticated DJ consoles out there, but for someone who just wants to get a grounding in the DJ scene and start to build up their skills with a DJ mixer – this is the perfect choice.
It’s cheap, and it’s got all the features an entry-level DJ would need. Please make sure you understand that, whilst this DJ mixer is extremely good and probably the best entry-level DJ mixer you could buy, it is by no means the best DJ mixer. If you plan to learn a lot about DJ-ing and become a great DJ, perhaps you might want to look at the RMX model or a different DJ mixer altogether so that you have ‘room to grow’ and the features your DJ mixer has never becomes limiting.
